Hi! I’m Ronja, welcome!

I’m a problem solver, spreadsheets nerd, organisational wizard, process optimizer, people manager and sometimes also a designer. My expertise is mostly in the cultural sector – music, arts, architecture, theatre. A huge fan of managing complex projects, producing events and creating sustainable workflows and systems.

If you want to know more about me, check out my CV below, read more about my skills, have a look at my creative projects (coming soon!) and read what other fun and random things I’ve done.

Took the job to have somewhere to go outside of my home (office) and to practice some German. Besides from making a lot of coffee for the caffeine-hungry coworkers, the work is mostly admin tasks. But I'm very proud of a spreadsheet I scripted, that generates offer PDFs based on tickboxes, saves them in Drive and sends them out via e-mail with a push of one button.

   Biography

My working career started selling newspaper in the summer of first grade. I just always had the urge to do something useful and obviously enjoyed the added bonus of some extra cash. From there on I’ve had a seemingly random career of saying yes to almost anyone who asked me to help with something interesting. This includes working as a montage assistant at age 12, syncing and logging files for a few TV series and commercials, selling gemstones and dream catchers in a small witchy shop at age 16 to coordinating the social media campaign for Pope Franciscus official papal visit to Estonia at age 20.

The most life changing moment for me was in 10th grade when I decided to drop out of high school to go and study organ. Seemingly crazy decision, especially for my parents, but also one that opened up doors that I never wouldn’t have found otherwise. Having learnt to always trust my gut, there has never been a decision worthy of regret since.

What I know for certain is that I probably wouldn’t be able to work a boring 9-17 office job ever. I thrive in project based environments, I need the deadline, the final push, the culmination – I need to be able to see the results of my actions. You can have a look at the more professional projects I’ve been involved in and work I’ve done in my CV.

But if you’re only interested in the fun stuff, then let me tell you more about the random, not the usual career-ladder-climbing things I’ve done:

  • I’ve written a bunch of Excel scripts with the help of Google, and lately ChatGPT, to make my spreadsheets more functional and fancy.
  • I’ve managed a restaurant in Tallinn, where I got to dip my toe into leading a team and had the first experience of conducting hiring interviews.
  • This year I got to try a bit of art direction for a bakery photoshoot.
  • I won a middle school fashion show together with a classmate, our collection was all moss green – my favourite color! Obviously I know how to sew and have made some clothes for myself every once in a while since.
  • I’ve done some gigs in a church as an organ player, including many Sunday services, a bunch of weddings, a christening and a funeral.
  • I was an avid debater in middle school, organised an international debate tournament for 4 years (we had over 100 participants, even as far as from China!) and helped out also other tournaments as a Tournament Director for some years.
  • This fall I started a bar at my friends theatre – curated the menu, organised deliveries, bought all the tools and even made a technical drawing for the building of the bar counter.
  • For 3 years I managed an 18-people big band, our biggest achievement was the release of their debut album and the following tour in Estonia.
  • I’ve done a bunch of design stuff. The school newspaper needed a designer so I self-taught myself Indesign, and have been doing ocassional design projects ever since.
  • And in between and during all of this, I’ve also worked a bunch in bars and restaurants as a waitress, bar manager and barista. So yes, I can make a pretty mean cappuccino, but the best latte art I can manage is still just a heart.
